Netflix miniseries (2026), six episodes.
Plot Summary (Spoilers)
- Strange things start happening in Snook's Arm, a remote Newfoundland fishing town — and they're tied to something in the water.
- The show keeps its threat hidden for the first two episodes and even hints the menace might be supernatural.
- A visiting marine researcher teams up with local Calvin and the community to figure out what's lurking below.
- The townspeople act strange — unquenchable thirst and a terrifying urge to plunge into the ocean — because the creature is contaminating the town's drinking water.
- The reveal: it's a huge sea creature terrorizing the town.
My Thoughts (Spoilers)
- Interesting for the first two episodes because we still didn't know what was happening.
- After the reveal it went downhill and got boring — the mystery was doing all the work.
- The creature turned out to be nothing more than just a big creature, and so many things in the story don't make sense.
- Felt the same as Cuckoo — great while the mystery lasted, downhill after the reveal. Below has an 80%+ Rotten Tomatoes score and Cuckoo 70%+, so I won't trust RT scores any more.
